pruner sharpening

The importance of maintaining garden tools so that they will last for a lifetime of gardening will be presented.  This topic will include cleaning and sharpening

of garden tools.  Each participant will be asked to bring a garden pruner or shear to sharpen.  Participants will go home with a sharpened

pruner and a small gardening sharpening tool kit.  Please do not bring loppers or shovels.

Maria’s background is education.  She was a dental assistant program director at Midlands Technical College where she worked for 32 years.

She finished her Master Gardener’s Program in 2009 and has been very active since.  Her love for instruments and their care easily

transferred to garden tools.  Her achievements since becoming a Master Gardener include Garden Tour Chair for 3 years, GLAM

presenter and contributor, Treasurer for South Carolina Midlands Master Gardener Association, Volunteer of the year for

LCMGV in 2012 and is current President of LCGMV, 2015-2017.
